This is our final meeting before LD camp and also the last meeting of our scouting year.  As expected, the main focus will be camp preparations, so please come ready to participate.  Again, please do not be late to the meeting, as we will begin at 9:00am sharp.
 
There will be an equipment check on Sunday, so all equipment need to be at the meeting (including tent, patrol box, stove, and cooler)​.  Please make sure that your patrol has all the necessary items for camp, and if not, please let the leaders know via email.  
 
Patrol leaders, please be aware that camp meals will need to be completed on Sunday.  You will only be given the 20 minutes to complete the meal plan and distribute the materials list within your respective patrols.  Please plan for 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, and 2 dinners.

Our next two meetings at Plaza Vista will be very important as we prepare for LD camp on Labor Day weekend.  Therefore, it is critical that all scouts arrive at the meeting on time.  Our agenda begins at 9:00 sharp, and there will be consequences for showing up late.  All scouts need to arrive to the meeting with the willingness to participate, so please stay on task throughout the entirety of the meeting.
 
All scouts need to bring their gay doi to the meeting.  As you can see in our TMP, we do not have a block of time for advancements, so requirements will not be tested unless you email in ahead of time.  
 
Permission slip for LD camp is due by midnight 8-17-2019.

What: learning more about Vietnamese history and culture at a museum

Where: Museum of the Republic of Vietnam - 9842 Bolsa Ave. #205, Westminster, CA 92683

When: Sunday, August 11 from 10:00am to 12:00pm

What to Bring: Class A, water bottle, notebook & pen

Prior to arriving, please explore this website: museumrvn.com.  There will be a Q&A about the information so be prepared.  We will start activities at 10:00am sharp, so please be there on time.  We will be finished by 12:00pm, so remind your parents to pick you up then.

There will be a brief flag ceremony, so Class A is required for all scouts.  Class B is allowed after the flag ceremony, so it is recommended that you wear your Class B t-shirt under your uniform. 

The permission slip for our Lien Doan camp on Labor Day weekend is now available online.  The deadline to submit the LD camp permission slip is August 17th at midnight.​

Scoutmaster Conference (SMC) and Board of Review (BOR)

1. The BOR will be conducted on the second Sunday of each month.  The cut-off for request submission is Monday night before the following Sunday BOR.  This give the BOR time to prepare.
2. Scout must include scout name, rank, unit, and Scoutmaster name
3. BOR for Tenderfoot, 1st and 1nd Class requires an essay from the scout
4. BOR for Star and Life requires another leader for another unit to sit in the review
5. No SMC on the same day as BOR
